Dégagé finds great significance in providing opportunities for patrons to escape the monotony of everyday life on the street. During meals, volunteer groups often provide activities such as bingo or karaoke. Local churches partner with us to provide special events such as holiday parties, trips to the beach, fishing, musical performances and sporting events.

Monthly birthday parties are also a tradition. Dégagé Ministries, along with a few generous and committed volunteers, holds a birthday party on the last Tuesday of every month to celebrate all of the birthdays during the month. For some, this is their only birthday party; the only time that someone stops to recognize and celebrate that they have made it through another year of their life. It is a much-anticipated event where each individual with a birthday that month can bring a guest and enjoy a pizza and birthday cake. Honorees receive a $5 gift card to Goodwill.
