Current Volunteer Opportunities for Groups
SERVING EVENING MEALS
In order to main consistency for our patrons, Dégagé uses groups of 8-10 people to serve dinner each night. Substitute volunteers are needed for nights that our regular volunteers cannot make it, especially around holidays. We would love to add you to our substitute list to be contacted when we need a little extra help serving meals.
HOST AN EVENING ACTIVITY OR PROVIDE A SPECIAL SNACK
This is a great option for groups who would like to serve on a one-time basis. You can bring in prizes and run a bingo night (we supply the bingo game), host a karaoke night, or host a spades or dominos tournament. Groups can also bring in a special snack like ice cream sundaes or root beer floats and serve it to our patrons while making new friends in the dining room or in the Open Door women’s overnight center.
Periodically, there are deep cleaning projects we could use help with. If your group does not mind getting a little dirty, we’d love to have you dig in and deep clean at Dégagé.
ORGANIZE A DRIVE
Start a donation box at your church, school or business to collect kitchen or pantry items or gloves in the winter months for Dégagé! See our Wish List for a current list of our greatest needs.
PLAN AN OUTING
Groups can plan and provide transportation for an event for our patrons such as bowling, fishing, a holiday party, a trip to the beach, etc.
COME FOR A TOUR
Groups desiring to know more about our ministry and those we serve are welcome to schedule a tour and a Q&A with one of our staff members. For more information, contact our Volunteer Coordinator – Holly Kammel, email@example.com 616-454-1661, ext. 212
